They came from mighty nations, tiny islands, obscure countries,
Created records, instant fame,
With pride waved from Podium.
More than Luck, it is years of sacrifice, sweat and tears.
Day after day, improving the standard, hoping for some Luck.
The waiting game is over, time to prove has come, day in the Sun.
Wow, How they run as if their life is at stake, single minded goal,
There’s blood, drama and steely determination on their faces.
In the eyes of the beholder, everyone is a winner, you’ve
given your best, the World salutes you, you’re the Gods.
You are an inspiration to the budding athletes, what a pace,
We are Lucky to see you, Men and Women of Tokyo Olympics
