THE LETTER

The rain is relentless, the dark night and the sound on the roof, makes it more spooky,
Rats scurry around, the cat meows randomly. The little dog is as scared as me.
I sit huddled in the creaking sofa, thunder and lightning add to the gory night.
I shudder in fear as someone screams and wails, what a cacophony,
There is sound of hoofs and I close my eyes pretending there is nothing wrong.
Someone knocks the door noisily but I am in no position to open the door.
I pray to Gods of all faiths, get hold of the torch, who could it be at this late hour.
The persistent knock grows louder, as I hear thunderstorm in the background.
I shiver in fear, clasp my hands tight, should I open the door, see who has come.
I walk slowly towards the door and open the bolts with trembling hands,
A headless man in dark suit is at the door and a sound comes, I have a Letter for you.
